Logbird is a mileage log for small-business owners. It needs to know where you drive in order to log your trips, so this policy explains exactly what it collects, what it does with it, and how you can delete it. Logbird is operated by Gemini Realty Management LLC (“we”, “us”).

The short version

  • We collect your drives so we can log your mileage. That is the only reason.
  • GPS is turned on only while you are driving.
  • No advertising, no tracking across apps or websites, and we never sell your data.
  • Raw GPS points stay on your phone and are discarded when a trip is saved. Only the trip and a simplified route are kept.
  • You can delete your account and all of its data from inside the app at any time.

What we collect

  • Account: your email address and how you signed in (Apple, Google or an email code), to create your account, sync your log between your devices and contact you about your account.
  • Trips: start and end time, start and end location and address, distance, a simplified route line, vehicle, and how you classified the trip. This is your mileage log.
  • Places you save: home, regular workplace, and places you set rules for, to suggest how to classify trips and to tell commuting from business driving.
  • Vehicles and businesses: names you give them, optional year, make and model, your car's Bluetooth name, and odometer readings.
  • Tolls and parking: amount, date, vendor, and an optional photo of the receipt.
  • Photos you take in the app of receipts or your odometer. They are re-encoded on your phone without location data before they are uploaded.
  • Subscription status: plan, trial and renewal dates. Payments are handled by Apple; we never see your card details.

What stays on your phone

  • Raw GPS points recorded during a drive. They are used to build the trip and deleted when the trip is saved.
  • Motion activity, used on your phone to decide when a drive starts and ends. It is not stored or sent to us.
  • The detection log in Settings, kept for 14 days to explain a missed trip. It contains speeds and times, never coordinates, and is not sent to us unless you choose to share it.

Logbird does not include advertising or analytics software and does not track you across other apps or websites.

Location and motion permissions

Automatic logging needs location access set to Always and Motion & Fitness access. Logbird uses the phone's low-power signals to notice that a drive may have started, and switches on GPS only then. Without Always, you can still log trips by tapping Start trip, and location is used only while the app is open.

Who processes your data

  • Supabase stores your account, your synced log and your photos, and handles sign-in. Your data is stored in the United States (AWS us-east-1, Northern Virginia).
  • Apple provides Sign in with Apple, App Store payments, maps, address search and directions, and turns trip coordinates into street addresses.
  • Google provides Google sign-in if you choose it.

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or of Logbird.

How long we keep it

  • Mileage records are kept for 7 years, the period tax records are commonly kept, and then deleted automatically.
  • A trip, expense or photo you delete stays in Recently deleted for 30 days so you can restore it, then is permanently deleted.
  • When you delete your account, everything is deleted from our servers and your phone's copy is erased.
  • Logbird's database and photos are excluded from iCloud and computer backups; your synced account is the backup.

Your choices and rights

  • See and export your data with Export, at any time.
  • Correct it by editing any trip; changes are recorded in the edit trail.
  • Delete it in Settings › Your data › Delete account.
  • Turn tracking off in Settings, or change Location and Motion access in the iPhone Settings app.

Depending on where you live (for example California), you may have additional rights to know, access, correct or delete your personal information. Email us to use them; we will not treat you differently for doing so.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit. Sign-in tokens are kept in the iPhone Keychain, and each account can read only its own data on our servers. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit what we collect and keep.

Children

Logbird is meant for adults running a business and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above, and tell you in the app before a material change takes effect.
